RedDoorz provides free rooms for frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic

Singapore-headquartered hotel startup RedDoorz has launched an initiative called Red Heroes to provide temporary accommodation for frontline healthcare staff and emergency first responders for free during the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the program, RedDoorz will also supply care packages consisting of reusable face masks, hand sanitizer, energy drinks, and anti-droplet hats that will be distributed to personnel staying in those rooms, ensuring that healthcare professionals are equipped with essentials during their stay.

The Red Heroes program is being implemented in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore in partnership with local governments. In the Philippines, RedDoorz is linking up with the department of tourism and Manila city government to house medical practitioners residing in the capital during the Luzon-wide lockdown, according to an official statement. In Metro Manila, RedDoorz is providing a number of rooms at four properties located within three kilometers from hospitals, so that healthcare workers can have short commutes.

In Indonesia, RedDoorz has teamed up with the ministry of tourism and creative economy to provide more than 100 rooms at two properties in South Jakarta. These facilities are close to two major COVID-19 referral hospitals.

Meanwhile, in Singapore, RedDoorz has been working closely with the ministry of manpower to house foreign workers who are under a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine after entering the country. The company is also providing lodging for Malaysian employees in the city-state who cannot return to their home country following the lockdown implemented by the Malaysian government. RedDoorz is exploring other ways to support public initiatives in Singapore, such as measures like those implemented as part of the Red Heroes program in the Philippines and Indonesia.

To ensure the safety of its guests, RedDoorz also has increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting all common areas in its properties, according to the statement.
